My heartfelt sympathies to all of Steve's family. Steve was one of the most helpful and enthusiastic people I have known. Despite his own health issues, he was invariably cheery and always willing to put himself out, and to do more than his share. This was as true for his voluntary work in the community as it was for his many years contributing to the training of Royal Navy engineers. Above all though, Steve was a family person who was a caring husband to Ali and a very proud father, who spoke often about Will and Morgan as they grew and flourished. There was rarely any issue, whether professional, personal or family that I felt couldn't be shared for sound, experienced advice from Steve. Steve Witham was a good man and lived a worthy life. His family should be proud of him. He will be missed.

My deepest condolences to Steve's family and close friends. I have worked with Steve over the past 20 years with the greatest of pleasure, developing Aircraft curriculum from Cudrose and can say he was Mr Professional in all aspects of his work. Always working with a smile, happy in disposition and a pleasure to spend time with. We looked forward to his thoughtful, jovial, non-controversial approach and he will be greatly missed by all the team at RNAS Culdrose. May he rest in peace.
